  • Hotel Indigo East - Long Island, Glitter tried and approved Living Social deal

Blackout dates make it good for weekends between 11/16 and 2/8, but no holidays. Weekdays are more flexible, but I had a great winter weekend out there last year on this deal. The hotel restaurant was very good so the dining credit is worth having.

    The Destination
Think of East End Long Island like a fork: The Peconic Bay divides the land into two prongs—the North Fork and the Hamptons. And at the split, straddling the mouth of the Peconic River, lies aptly named Riverhead, New York. The historic town serves as a gateway to the thriving, unpretentious North Fork wine region as well as the posh boutiques and beaches of Quogue and Southampton. The community's laid-back pace and simple style are evident at the marina, public beach, and farm stands around which life here revolves.

    The Digs
Bright hues are the hallmark of funky Hotel Indigo East End. Modern murals and blonde-wood furniture deck out each room, all of which offer queen or double beds, flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi. Spa-style bathrooms are stocked with Aveda products, and the hotel offers guests access to an on-site fitness center and a menu of massages. Bistro 72 serves up farm-fresh, seasonal dishes as part of a commitment to locally sourced cuisine. Grab a table in the dining room or savor a meal on the patio—a toasty fire in the hearth can warm up chilly evenings. The bistro also hosts live performances by local musicians on the weekends.

    The Diversions
    • Tanger Outlets Riverhead
    • Sparkling Pointe Winery
    • Greenpoint Harbor Brewing Co.
    • South Jamesport Beach

Thanks for your feedback! The price is great, and its close enough for me to take a quick one or two night getaway.

PS....I just looked at the hotel website, and this is a pet friendly hotel, which actually works for me.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I am trying to visualize this and to figure out what it was before....but I can not!

There is also a new hotel right in downtown Riverhead - possibly a Hyatt?
      Yup. http://www.hyattplaceeastend.com/

This is a great restaurant with local grown, fabulous food. Also on west Main Street, Riverhead. http://farmcountrykitchen.net/

It's the old Ramada Inn just as you get off at Exit 72. You are looking straight at it as you get off the exit.

I actually ate there last night - Bistro 72 - and it was excellent! We were a party of 4 that went on a Groupon that gave you 2 "small plates", 2 entrees, and 4 glasses of wine for $89. We ordered coffee and dessert and ended up paying an additional $63 + $52 tip.
The check was, before the groupon, $260. The food and service were excellent.

You can get a $50 gift certificate for $20 at www.walkradio.com.
