Snow showers break out by late morning....evolving into a steadier snow during this
afternoon...as winds pick up and temps...either hold steady or fall slightly. Heavy snow tonight...Near blizzard conditions for the coast. When all is said and done...NYC & suburbs 6-10"...Long ISland and SE Conn....10-15".....north and west of these areas...
3"-6". Icy cold and windy for rest of the week. I have igloos for sale...interested ?
This will bed the toughest - longest bout of winter thus far.
Accu Weather has it at about 12". Either way,
NYC: Wind-Driven Snowstorm, Cold Blast on the Way

Enough snow to shovel and plow, blowing and drifting snow and plunging temperatures will head to the New York City area Tuesday.
After a mild start to the week, a storm originating from Western Canada will strengthen upon nearing the coast through Tuesday night and leading to dramatically colder conditions and travel delays.
Ice can form on paved and concrete surfaces beneath the snow as temperatures fall.
The worst conditions will be for the drive home Tuesday.
