I am glad DS left last night for snowboarding in the Catskills. He should be very happy right about now

I know what you mean. I'm leaving it up to DH to deal with...Our electrician came last to hook ours up, but he needed to order a special plate for electrical box. The piece came in, but our appointment isn't until tomorrow @ 5. Maybe a day too late!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I'm not too unhappy myself. I was able to fill up my tank this morning; then arrived at work to find my meetings canceled and an early departure announced, with a delayed opening tomorrow that will also take me out of another meeting. Life is good!

Is that a wired-in one, though? I think those are easier to start and to use. Good luck with it. Long Island always seems to get the worst of every storm.

I don't really know what it is....He said that we would just need to flick whatever switch we wanted to use. Heater, refrig, etc., etc.

And yes, LI always seems to get hammered.

Meant to quote Wacky......read the directions but the important thing is to make sure you have a 5 gallon jug of fuel (gas? Diesel?) to run the generator.

It used to be just the opposite. "North and west of NYC". But now it is "eastern LI and coastal CT"

Blame global warming??? Or weather confusion!!!

Glad to hear that you're also benefiting! As long as I don't lose electricity, I'll be fine with it, too. Got my fingers crossed!

If Angela's is the wired-in kind, it's probably hooked up to her natural gas line--she won't need to rely on a container of gasoline or propane.

                        I'm having generator envy!

No Wacky, it's not a whole house generator......It's wired in to my electrical box, not to my heating system. I still need to get fuel.

Oh, shoot. Less generator envy. But still, some generator envy. Because mine is dependent on me dragging a heavy-duty electrical cord across the lawn and dropping it in through a basement window.

You guys really need to devise a plan to get out of there just before these snow storms.
FL really isn't bad when you see that we are having highs of 73 today.

Well it may not be FL, PR or USVI but it's a balmy 61 here in SC. I am sooooo glad I moved.
