  • New York Gallery Tours

I just did one of these, a great way to do the Chelsea (or LES, or UES) galleries. Hundreds of shows, narrowed down to a choice few, changes monthly. Note: the galleries are always free, but this is a way to see the highlights, and get some good intel on what you're seeing. We saw some extraordinary exhibits, including the new Mapplethorpe show. The group was quite a bit larger than I might like, probably because of the Mapplethorpes, but we managed ok. The tour had 7 galleries on it, and took a little under 3 hours. Minimal walking, bc we took a cab from the last Chelsea gallery to final one on W 36th for Mapplethorpe (cabfare not included).

Thanks for the info! I actually love tours, even in my our city. Inevitably, you learn something new, and see something that you might not have zoned in on, if it wasn't brought to your attention.

I also like the food tasting tours.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
