Our last trip here started out badly, but this trip was much better to start. Seemed like a few people had to wait for their unit to be ready, but nothing like the zoo the last time we went 2 or 3 years ago. We had a 3 Bedroom in the next to newest building with no elevators, but a half a stairway and a few feet more and we were in our third floor unit. It was great smoking a good cigar every night on the deck, tho I did need a sweatshirt on a couple of nights. We had invited guests to join us but they had a problem that kept them from going. This unit had two levels with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, each with two twin beds. The lower level had the master bedroom with a king bed and a bathroom with a whirlpool tub, living/dining room (with a murphy bed)and a full kitchen with plenty of cabinet space. Full schedule of activities for the week and an activity director and assistant. It was the first time in many stays that we didn't use the pools. The parking lots had recently been repaved and there were no lines painted yet

I am so happy we were able to get a freebie ownership here for week 31 last year. This is back to back with our week 30 ownership in Vermont at Smugglers Notch- just 2 hours away and a Sunday check in as well. Works out perfectly!
When we checked in this year, it was a bit better than last year, which had lines of people waiting to get into their units that were not ready. Granted, some people were there earlier than the 4pm check-in.
This year, we were there about 1/2 hour before check-in and the unit was not ready, so we went food shopping and the front desk contacted us while we were at the supermarket to tell us the unit was ready- this by 4pm on schedule.
I love that they throw your garbage daily and change out towels daily if needed. Love the mid week cleaning.
Our unit is in the oldest building but has been updated somewhat- the master bathroom totally redone. A newer dishwasher. We have a loft unit and although it is considered a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, it is really like a 3 bedroom because there are two additional twin beds in the loft. The 2nd bedroom also has 2 twins which I wish was a queen. We have a nice long balcony- we are in a corner unit on the top (3rd) floor with a view of the tennis courts and ski mountains and surrounded by beautiful birch trees. We can hear the Pollard Brook streaming by over the rocks. Very tranquil.
I am a big pool person and use the pools almost daily, as well as the sauna. Occasionally the hot tub. Use the nice gym. Went on a great all day excursion with the concierge.
Really have enjoyed it the past 2 years. Even when we did an exchange to go there last Sept. for the Highland Games, we actually were lucky to be able to get the unit we own simply by asking upon check in which was great!Prior to owning, we rented here a couple of times for the XMAS holiday (from a private owner) since our son lives in nearby Plymouth.
Hope to have many years usage to come. Love the area and the resort.

I've been going to Pollard Brook for well over a decade, though not every year, and I think I liked it better before the last 2 buildings and InnSeasons came to be. I always liked it better than the other 3 resorts I've stayed in around the Lincoln area. I take your unit has been repaired and updated, though another owner I know has been rather critical since the assessment a few years ago which had little effect on his unit in the original building. I find it a bit strange that they continue having even minor problems getting people checked in by 4 PM(our previous trip had us and many others waiting until 5:30 for our unit).

Yes, as I mentioned our unit was somewhat updated- most in Liberty Lodge have been. The repairs are listed in the owners section on the website.Luckily, my ownership took place after that special assessment (maybe that is why the previous owners got rid of it?). The master bathroom completely redone. Kitchen is decent- new dishwasher. Still older dining room furniture, but new carpeting throughout the unit. Nice big TV on fireplace mantel. Very comfortable king size bed. Living room furniture is in good shape but very uncomfortable. Old tables in there as well. Upstairs the twin bed furniture is old. I had to complain about water seepage in the ceilings upstairs my first year there. But I am right on it if something isn't right.
It would be nice if they could improve the curb appeal of the old building as it really needs a facelift. The stairways and railings are rusty. The entry doors need painting or to be replaced even.Being a masonry building and by the stream it gets very damp which doesn't help. And- it all takes money!
I have had no experience previous to Innseasons. (VRI now manages the resort). We did stay at South Mountain (sold by Pollard Brook's developer to Blue Green) and I really liked it there in terms of the location and the ambience, though our unit had a tacky "fake" fireplace in it. Liked the pool there as well. It now sits in the shadow of the massive fractional ownership Riverwalk resort built by the Pollard Brook developer.
As for check-in, the only thing it could be is not enough help to get the units ready.Sure, some people might not check-out on time, but I think it really comes down to having the help.

As for beaches, some of the mountain lakes have really nice beaches. My fav close by Lincoln is Echo Lake in Franconia Notch State Park. Can't beat the view. Small and quiet. The lake is clear with a sand and pebble bottom. Cold- but refreshing. I love to float in it on my floaty thingamajig. Could lie out there all day. Get there before 9am and free admission. If not, only $4.00 admission anyway. Lifeguard on duty. Sure- in summer there might be a kids camp or two there, but they are conscious of keeping the campers to one side of the lake.
And lots of great swimming holes in the area as well.

PS: I was just kidding. One of the weeks we still own (since 1992) is at a mountain resort, far, far from the beach.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Jack O Lantern, just a few miles down route 3 from Lincoln-Woodstock has a very nice golf course. At one time they also had a nice restaurant with entertainment that I do miss- tho I don't mind not bringing a suit with me to go there. On the other side of the Kanc (toward Conway) there are some nice places in the river to get wet, and the ladies bathtub behind the riverfront condos is a nice spot for a river swim. I often think that it was nicer in the days before MickeyD came to town and all the condos were built.
