  • The Meatball Shop, dinner for two including sangria, $45 12/7/16-1/31/17

It's deal season in NYC... I would only use this at the Lower East Side location.... great neighborhood for exploring, and close to Chinatown, Soho, and the East Village.

The Meatball Shop is a household name among New Yorkers for having some of the "best meatballs in America" (Travel + Leisure). Save more than 20% at this beloved NYC chain.

    Why We Love It
Praised by the likes of Bon Appétit, The New York Times, Zagat, Food & Wine, Food Network, GQ, Good Morning America -- the list goes on
The Wall Street Journal calls this NYC chain a "meatball mecca"
Valid for all six New York City locations, any day of the week
Celebs love it too: Martha Stewart, Oprah, Seth Meyers, Heidi Klum, Rachel Ray and Katie Holmes are all Meatball Shop fans
    What's Included
For $45 (reg. up to $59), sit down to lunch or dinner for two
Any two entrees (up to $13 each): choose from naked balls, the kitchen sink salad or sandwiches with your choice of balls (classic beef, spicy pork, chicken, veggie or the special of the day), plus your choice of sauce (classic tomato, spicy meat, mushroom gravy, parmesan cream, pesto or the special of the day)
Any two sides ($6 each), such as the freshly milled polenta, rigatoni or roasted veggies of the day
One carafe of sangria or wine, or pitcher of beer to share (up to $21)

Is that for dine-in, or so they ship online orders? I ask because online meals is gaining momentum.

Down here there is a very popular Italian Restaurant, Mama's, within bicycling distance. They serve HUGE portions of everything.

Today I will be on my third day of spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, and garlic rolls. I can get four meals out of one order.

    really good stuff, too

    $10.

BF: As I was typing "I can get four meals out of one order" I was thinking of you.

Well, this is THE original Meatball Shop (at least the one on the LES is)... the meatballs are pretty darn good imho... and they have lots of different flavors. It's more of a "thing" to do than it is really about the actual meatballs, especially because the neighborhood is so great. But if I had your wife to cook me homemade meatballs, I might feel differently!!

We now have two meatball places within two blocks of our apartment -- one is a "Meatball Shop." I don't love either of them but they come in handy for dinners w kids. In truth, I'm sure the "original" Meatball Shop hasn't been original for years... with six locations in Manhattan it had to have sold at least a major share in the brand to corporation-types.

                Frank--

It was called Il Postino. You told me about it when Young and I went there a few years ago, and it was delicious.
