As always, we had a wonderful time at Smuggs this year. I truly love that place and can never imagine tiring of it. This year, my husband and I participated in more of the adult, nighttime activities than ever before, and we also did a Segway class (those two wheeled contraptions...they are fun but can be nervewracking!). I took a Pilates class, and we also went into Stowe with the girls and rode the gondola up the mountain. It was wonderful.
I hardly saw my son during the week, because he has a pack of friends that he sees when we are there. The teen centers they built have been a wonderful place for kids to congregate, and they also just built a skateboard park. My son had a couple of skateboard lessons from a friend (they offer a class at the resort but of course he's too cool for that) and had a good time there too.
I was thrilled to meet Chris Gill, who just bought a full-time unit there. Her daughter and my younger daughter spent a good deal of time together (and went to dance camp together) and my daughter just sent a letter to her!
It was so sad to go this year, especially because last year I had two weeks and really want that again. (I'm going to ask all of you for help next summer scoping out last calls!) I just feel like all my troubles melt away there...you know?
