I was in Newport yesterday as I was driving back home from Maine. We were not there for long but we did pass the mansions on Belvue St on our way to Dinner at the Castle hill inn on Ocean drive.

Fairfield Wyndham Newport Overlook Jamestown RI

                    July 14-21, 2007

                    Fairfield Wyndham Newport Overlook
                    Jamestown RI - Phone 401-423-0396

Checked in on 7/14 Saturday afternoon

We were originally assigned to unit 15
Superior unit with a full view of the water

Received our keys and went to check out the condition of the unit.
Unit 15 is 4 houses to the left of the unit we stayed in last summer.
The weather was warm and once inside we discovered the air was
not working. We went back up to the office. One of the staff went
back down to the house and turned on the air and told us to wait &
see if it cooled down.. We knew we could not live without air so we
asked for a different unit and was reassigned to a deluxe unit up the
hill away from the water but with a waterview and right next to the
outdoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tub. As an added bonus,
the new unit had a single car garage for our Mineral Gray Mustang.

We settled in and found some minor cleaning issues but all in all
the unit has felt like home. We have had a great time here this
week at Newport Overlook and really hate to leave on Saturday.

A few comments regarding Newport Overlook

There are only 19 Townhouse Style Units - each different

The unit that we are staying in has a first floor
Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom with a huge closet
there is a extra wide set of sliding doors that goes out on
to the patio. Green round resin table and four resin chairs.
Bar-B-Q Grill, flowers and bushes and bunnies and sea gulls

The furniture is average, nothing fancy like the Marriotts
but comfortable. Three TV`s - Stereo - One Paddle Fan

On the second level is a Living Room, Dining Area, Full Kitchen
with sliders off to another patio/deck - Guest Bedroom & Bath

The laundry room has a huge washer and dryer with stainless
steel interior and electronic digital timers.. Hot Water Tank.

Newport Overlook is located on the West Side of The Pell Bridge.
It is located on Jamestown Island - not in Newport Rhode Island.

How did you like Overlook? Did you stay primarily in Jamestown or did you go to Newport mostly?

We were in Newport in June & loved it so much we are going back next June.

This was our second visit to Newport Overlook
Here you have the feeling of being in a small town.

We went to the Newport Grand Casino (Turkey Dinner)
Took a Self Guided tour of The Elms on Bellevue Avenue
Visited Wickford - Narragensett - Galilee and Port Judith.

I love to sit out on the patio and look at The Pell Bridge

The Rhode Island quarter, the third quarter of the 2001 series,
honors the "Ocean State." Featuring a vintage sailboat gliding
through Rhode Island's famous Narragansett Bay, and an image
of the Pell Bridge in the background, with the design showcasing
Rhode Island's most popular sport sailing.
