  • Why is there so much Manhattan Club available online???

    As per this thread....
    http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=18015

It is VERY interesting to me that there is suddenly so much availability at MC...I know lots of savvy TS4M members and people who frequent other TS boards are VERY annoyed at the new $15/25 a day fee - but will it really keep people away ???
If anything it would seem that people who never had the 'juice' to pull MC can now - but these units are just sitting online.

Normally we have seen January thru Late March weeks available and only the cream of the crop could pull May and June weeks.....

    What do you think?

I am not booking them b/c of the fee. I never use the whole week and end up giving days away. I'm not going to ask friends to pay the fee, but I'm not going to pay it myself on top of my other costs, either. Getting a nice room is a crapshoot, so the added fee just puts me over the edge. Maybe if they were really offering a service for it, but I don't need to rehash that again.

I may take a week next year, but my future consumption of MC weeks will definitely be less than in the past.

Maybe RCI is a bit nervous about renting them now that II has their foot in the MC door.

I would love to go to this resort...fee or no...I've got several trips planned so can't take advantage of it...hope that many are available next year!

I think the fee hurt them as well as people not being thrilled with there stay.

It will be interesting to see how the new Penthouse units that trade with II measure up to the 'older' units.

Could be that RCI "raised the bar" on what could actually "get" Manhattan Club.

Rumor has it that too many bragged about a sweet exchange with a dog for NYC and things have been changed to the point that RCI has cancelled holds and confirmations made with weeks that are not "worthy".

Might explain why they are still there.

PLUS, according to RCI, we are just a teeny speck of knowledge in a world of unknowledgeable exchangers. WE know they are there but how many really do know?

STILL a super time to visit NY....

Even with the fee, I am still under $700 for a week in NYC....quite a bargain.
And it seems that the Hilton Club has only studios....I realy like having the 2 rooms with 2 full baths of the full 1BR there.
Only time will tell what will happen here.

The Hilton Club sounds very nice. However, if they only have studios, The Manhattan Club is still going to be the most sort after. I agree with Pat, 1 & 2 bdrms are much more desirable than studios.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I can't pull the MC anymore w/ my SA week....only with my SoCal week (best trader). And, since I can't use the whole week, refuse to give up my best trader and pay the extra fees for only a long weekend stay. Didn't mind so much w/ my SA week.....as I usually gave part of the remaining week to friends and/or family.
Unless I can get use of at least 1/2 the week at MC, I won't trade into it anymore. And while the Hilton Club may be only studios...the free snacks, drinks, appetizers, etc. more than make up for the loss of space. We actually save money (on dining out)while at the HC; whereas at the MC, we spend more on food...and have to pay the extra fees.

                      Deb,

I agree with you that the Hilton is a great deal, and sounds really nice....May very well be nicer than the Manhattan Club.

I just meant that many people travel with more than 2 in their party, which would make the Hilton Club less desirable for them.

My theory is that the MC is happy with the extra revenue generated by the $15/$25 fees and they are releasing more units as deposits to RCI.
