There IS snow at Hunter!!

DH and DS14 left at 7 am this morning for Hunter Mountain. They apparently have the ability to make more snow in higher temps than some other area mountains. DS14 has been monitoring all the area (and nationwide I think) mountain stats for weeks...

Just got a message from DH that it is 37 degrees up there, and the conditions are decent! Frankly, I am shocked, I figured they'd be skiing on mashed potatoes... I am hoping for a report on the Kaatskill Mountain Club, if they have time to check it out...

I am shocked but not surprised. They need to make a living so they make the snow late at night when it is coldest so it should stay good for the morning runs. I do not think it will hold up for the afternoon runs.
BTW I am in shorts right now and it's Dec.

Wow....it's hard to believe that they are able to keep snow at these temperatures. It's down right balmy out today. Anyway, I'm glad that your family is having a good time.
