  • 44 million: NYC sees record tourism

NEW YORK - Go fight your way through the holiday hordes in Times Square this week between Christmas and New Year's and you will likely witness a record in the making.

I had heard two to three weeks ago that this was going to be the best shopping season ever thanks to the tourists. The dollar is low compared to the Euro. So all of the Europeans are taking advantage of the 30 some odd percent savings.

I think that Frank is right. The strength of the Euro is making it very attractive for Europeans to visit the states. ( I will be paying top dollar this summer, in Europe ) I can tell you that every time that I went into Manhattan, this season, it has been a zoo.

The stores are crowded, and the restaurants are all full. Surprisingly, I did see lots of pre-holiday sales, tho. I got some good buys, this year. So, I'm not sure what that means as far as Xmas sales.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
