  • The Scene play, Beccos dinner

Just saw the Scene staring all about Raymond, Ray Romano's Wife. It was funny but dinner was great. We went to Beccos on 46st which is owned by Lida who is on the food network. We were treated like gold there. The wine expert there took a liking to us and comped us a few bottles on the house. He sat sat with us and drank with us all night. His name is Jorge. At first we did not have time for desert so we came back after the play. Because we had a good time before and came back Jorge comped the deserts, a few good bottles of Wine. 2 bottles of ports, Frangelica, and Muscata. I would say close to $300 worth. Of course we tipped him very well but still came out very happy.

He does not know it yet but my SIL goes to the Gym with the owner and knows her well. He will be getting an A+ on Tuesday.

    Frank....

Becco's is a great restaurant, especially considering it's location, in restaurant row. I think that Lidia's son runs this particular restaurant.

Also, it is priced so much better than Felidia's, up town. I would highly recommend this restaurant, if you haven't given it a try yet.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

They have an all you can eat Pasta to go with your diner for only $9 a person. You get 3 different Pastas, 1 was a mushroom ravioli in an Alferdo sauce, next is a Spagitti in a Maranra sauce and then there is a bow tie pasta with Shrimps and argula which I heard was prety much tasteless. I do not fish so they made a 4 pasta similar to the bow tie with shrips but different in they made it with Garlic and oil. This pasta was my favorite.
From my understanding I believe that most of the wines there are from the http://www.italianwinemerchant.com/ who just happens to be Molto Mario.

I'm another fan of Lydia. I've been to Felidia, but not to Becco's. I was thinking of taking my family to Becco's to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. They'll be 16 of us so I thought Becco's would be easier on the pocketbook. I'd better not ask Frank for any wine suggestions.

Do you know if they have a private section for small groups?

Maria if you call soon and ask for Jorge, Mention that he took very good care of me. Mention that we were the group of 4 that came back for dessert. If he does not remember that tell him we first tipped him $20 then tipped him $100 the 2nd time. I am sure he will recall that. This guy went well beyond taking care of us. You with out a doubt want him working that night.
