They have already issued 1st Stage Smog Alert warnings for when BF visits us here in Anaheim. When you combine the veggies and the cigars it becomes a real problem.

Oh man, he's gonna kill us! But he started it with that cauliflower confession!

Will they really let us know what is going on? Very scary since we still don't know what caused it.

John, it is very warm here but I don't notice the smog yet. It's windy too which is a typical Santa Ana.

Yeah they spin everything so not to cause panic. Or have I been watching too much of 24?

The smog hasn't hit yet Emmy...BF is not here yet. But when I look outside the birds do look a little queasy just knowing that he will arrive this year. They were studying maps figuring how they can get further south well before BF arrives.

Crows do congregate from time to time and I've seen a couple of such meetings in the past few years. They are a rather intelligent bird.

                      Poor birds!

Hey, speaking of "24"!!! Sunday night and Monday night are the first shows of the new season. In the previews, poor Jack Bauer looks like Rip Van Winkle after his long ride stowed away on that slow boat to China! I can't wait!!!

As of 1 pm, they had no idea what the cause of the smell was, but were certain it wasn't dangerous.

I spoke with my DD, and she told me that all the kids were outside the school, smelling the air, and trying to figure out, what was going on. No one was going to class.

I told her that she should stay inside, and not expose herself to this stuff, just in case we find out at a later point, that it was dangerous, after all. I don't know, I'm sure that it's nothing, but you can never be too careful. She won't listen to me, tho.

I'm not sure it's nothing. It seems very very weird to me. Remember how heavy and strange the air seemed after 9/11 and they were saying it was fine? Remember how even the light in the sky seemed odd?

                              Exactly!

They'd rather see people develop asthma and worse over time than see a panic with New Yorkers fleeing all at once. Sorry to sound cynical, but I've seen too many lies from the gubmint. And even in the best case scenario they love to protect the people from themselves, so they'll fib about safety if they really don't know one way or another if things are safe. JMHO of course.

I know....that's in the back of my mind. The problem is that she is a kid, and she thinks that I'm being totally paranoid. So, she won't listen. She'll do what ever her friends are doing. I think they basically used this as an excuse to get a day off. That would be fine, but they're not inside.
