It is now raining cats and dogs. In other words it is raining hard.

Rained hard all day but stopped raining about 2 hours ago. It's expected to start again soon. Winds much less than they said, let's hope it stays that way. We got so much rain so fast that we too have a lake at the back of the property. It just can't drain fast enough.

I am getting a bit nervous now. My yards drain must have gotten clogged and the yard flooded. I now have water just stating to get into my back door. Lucky so far that it has not made it's way in but not sure if it won't be in by morning.

We wound up getting water in our basement. Came through the water-proof window that we recently had installed.

I started vacuuming it up at 3:30, this morning. I gave up, because it keeps seeping in. I'm waiting for DH to get up, to see what he suggest, that we do.

                Worst storm since 1999's Ivan.

What Angela you don't like the indoor pool that Mother Nature installed? We also battled the incoming floods most of last night and early today. I'n sure we will be do so for the next couple of days.

If only there was a deck!

DH is currently vacuuming up the water, and is going to insist that the window company comes back, and fixes the window. I doubt that it will do much good. We should have just cemented the damn thing up!

                    My DH just called.

There is no train service, so he is on his way back home and he'll probably spend most of today playing with the sump pump in the basement.

I heard that many train lines have been affected, and that many roads are closed. So far, we haven't left the house, so I have no clue what's happening in our area.

I got lucky. I was expecting water in the basement but did not get it. It just made it to the top step and laid there.

Our close friends got rained in , They are stuck in Florida and can't get home untill Tuesday. They were at the airport for hours yesterday. The son is going to miss 2 maybe 3 days of School.

Forcast is rain for the next two days. The good news is that it won't be as bad.

I'm sorry Ang and Lawren got hit so hard. We shut off the pump in the yard last night, but then I couldn't sleep since it started raining again. We got lucky overnight, but the ground is so saturated I don't think it will hold much more; we have a lot of clay, not very good for drainage...

I really miss living in the city

Just spoke to my Mother who lives close to Hazlet, New Jersey which is south east of New Brunswick.

She said no water came in the apartment but it was close. She also said she can almost feel the dampness on the walls.

I just got in from 6 hours of work on the driveway and had to eat something before the 2nd shift. I'm stranded until I get it serviceable.
