Oh, I'd love to see them. Unfortunately we'll be on the Big Island on August 9.

I don't think it's fair to preface any sentence containing the words "we'll be on the Big Island" with "unfortunately"

The Moody Blues used to play a double at Jones Beach Theatre with Chicago for years in the summer.

Radio City would be a great place to see them.

Obviously the accoustics there would beat the beach but where do we drink the cheap beer prior to the show in Manhattan?

So, I guess you don't want to hear that since it is dd's birthday that day we'll be taking a snorkel cruise and then finishing it up with dinner at Huggo's (read Mud Pie).

It's an upgraded evening all around. Drinks at the Rainbow Room, or do they have a bar at Top of the Rock?

Jones Beach concerts have been dry for years. It's just not the same

Sweetie the concession stand on Zak's Bay parking lot sells beer until an hour prior to showtime and there is ALWAYS byo....

Rainbow room is way outside my current range. I'll have to think if I remember any dives in the area...

I'm not a fan of the Rainbow Room myself, but I can't believe all the concerts I've been to at JB and didn't know about the stand on Zak's Bay (where is that, anyway?). But no byo except in the parking lot, they don't let anyone in with anything, not even sealed bottles of water... in fact I'm not even going this year, unless something completely irresistable gets announced. As far as I'm concerned, b/t the lack of beer sponsors (supposedly the fault of the Parks Dept), and those despicable 'stadium seats' they added up top, it's just not the same anymore...

Moody Blues was the first rock concert I ever went to at the Arena in St. Louis. Awww the memories.

So many good memories of the Arena in St. Louis. I went to the NBA All Star Basketball Game there, among other events.

The Moody Blues puts on a great concert, saw them at the 'ShowMe Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
