It still looks interesting but I really want a resale at Old Killarney Village...I think!
Thanks for letting us know what you decided. How are the MF's at Old Killarney Village?

        Pat,

Seasons sounds interesting. After loving Europe so much, I understand why you would want to own there. Good Luck!!!

I did find out that it takes 135,000 to book a week at Old Kilarney and you can know get prime summer weeks; weeks 26-35 are blocked out. Since I own a week 32 in Ireland the membership would do me no good, although I could hook it on to get week 36 since I own week 35 at Whitbarrow Village in the Lakes District.

I am also looking for resale Season Holiday membership. I tried to buy one direct from Season Holidays using my week 35 Whitbarrown as a trade in and they still want what amounted to $6000...plus my week. I passed.

I do see Season Holiday memberships on eBay fairly often.

I'd love to be able to get an every other year, but that is not offered. God knows I certainly don't NEED more timeshares!

              GrayFal,
Would you please tell me what's so special about Old Killarney Village?
Also, where did you get the info about "6-7 properties in Ireland England Scotland and Wales" from?
I own two bedroom at Captains Quarters during Memorial week and was thinking of selling it. But now you made me wonder ...

Here is the Old Killarney Village TS website Old Killarney Holiday Village - Self Catering Holidays Ireland

We just loved the area, the TS is located a mile north of town - very easy access to all the shopping, activities, sightseeing, restaurants.
Beautiful, semi-detached thatched roof cottages with 3BRs and 3 full baths.....nice kitchen, washer/dryer, back yard with picnic table.
Easily controlled heat.....wondeful area to tour and hike and just soak in the Irish Charm..... does seem to have an affiliation with the Killarney Country Club - same management office.

If you click on the link above to the InnSeason group - they have an 'affiliation' with this resort - how easy or hard it is to book it anyones guess.
You can 'borrow' points from the coming year to get the number u would need for a reservation.

Here is the link to the "Seasons" resorts in the United Kingdom.
I was discussing that group that has several locations the UK, not Old Killarney Village

They were really nice...the large windows in the center were the front to back living room with fireplace/kitchen area open to a sleep loft with 2 twins beds.
the small window to the left and/or right is the front bedroom, behind is the back bedroom (both with full baths) and above those 2 is the 3rd bedroom with full bath.

The picture shows 2 units - attached ....but very private.
No resort amenities but the Old Killarney Inn - a bar restauranst was right on the same private road as the 45 units (25 building community) and we went there 3 nights for either dinner or drinks..wonderful, warm, friendly people.

But the UK is expensive to get to, you have to rent a car($8.00 / gallon gas and the dollar is sinking fast with respect to the euro and pound sterling.

I lost interest when the bidding rose to over $ 16. With fees of around $ 750 over the auction price, my final bids tend to decrease accordingly. The closing fee on a non deeded item should be $ 100 to $ 150 and I had to add a $ 300 annoyance devaluation for having to deal with Timeshare Closing Services.
