NYC Discussion in Chat Room this week?

I'm checking into MC on 8/10 and was wondering if any of our NYC veterans could meet me in the chat room one night this week. I've read through all of our threads and and have read two guide books but I think a group chat would be most beneficial.

I've already secured two tickets for Wicked 8/10 and Spamalot 8/16. We will have our three children (3,5 and 8) with us some of the time. My MIL and my parents will come in to take care of the kids when we need some adult time.

Even though I'm out on Long Island, I've really only gone into the city for a quick Broadway show and then right back home. This week long stay is our 10 year anniversary present.

I should be available to chat any night this week, just let me know what works best for you. Anyone up for it?

I'll try to make it as well. Sounds like you will be seeing some great shows. My daughters and I were just in and saw Mamma Mia for the second time, which we are absolutely loved. Maybe you could bring your eight year old to that one...also, did you know Little Mermaid is opening on Broadway? Not sure of the opening date but now would be a good time to look for tickets!

Thanks everyone. I figured that everyone was on vacation and I was on my own. I will head to the chat room tonight at 8:00 EST. If you can drop in for a few minutes, that would be great.

I actually had some little questions (and probably follow up questions) that I figured would be easier to answer in real time. For instance, one of my questions was about using the subway with my children during the week. At what time can we get on without getting squashed by "rush hour" traffic?

If I don't make it tonight (daughter is coming home from camp and other daughter is at Hole in the Wall Gang camp and usually calls around that time) please call me. My husband works in the city and can answer the rush-hour subway question better than I can. (I think it's best to avoid getting anywhere in the city other than on foot during that time period!)

Otherwise, I'll try to make it tonight.

Craig...Sorry, but I won't be able to make tonight, at 8PM. Going out to dinner with some friends. If you have any unanswered questions, you might consider posting them on this thread. Hopefully, the others will be able to make it, and all your questions will be answered.

I think the trains are most crowded during rush hour. Probably from 8 AM ish, until 9:30 AM ish. Then 4:30 PM ish, until 6:30 PM ish.


However, during the summer, the trains are actually a little less crowded than normal, because many people are on vacation.
