I believe the cost is about close to $15 a day. I did it once with a friend. The shuttles are nice but you might have to do a lot of walking. The car lots are huge.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

I always use Avistar Parking - right by the airport entrance - nice buses to the terminal - you call when u pickup your bags on return, they pick you up and have your car ready when u get to the lot....I have a site on my home computer to get a coupon but google 'discount aiport parking' and you should find it.

We used the long-term lots at JFK a few months ago. You park, then walk along a covered central walkway to the monorail stop.
There are bus shuttles that will take you from the walkway (that is, you still have to walk through the lot to the walkway) to the monorail; you can see the bus coming, but you can also see the monorail station--we thought it was a toss-up about whether it was worth it to even get on the bus or just walk.
Then you get on the monorail to go to your terminal.
Be sure to leave extra time to park and get to the monorail and then get to the terminal. It takes quite a while, even though everything was running smoothly when we were there.
The good part is that you can pay for the parking with your EZ Pass. The signs say EZ Pass Plus, but we had never heard of that, just drove through with our regular EZ Pass and it worked.

From entering the airport to getting to the terminal with long term parking took us 55 minutes - with avistar it took under 15 minutes.
and avistar is only a few dollars more then LTP - worth it for the timesaved and the convenience of being picked up at the terminal in a van...JMHO.
Another option - This past trip we did a one way car rental - for $35...picked up the car in Smithtown on Thursday evening after work and dropped it at JFK Avis on Friday...Avis is right at the Airtrain station...worked out great....our return flight was into ISP.
