    Ireland here we come.

That should help lower air fares.

Hey if they want Islip maybe they will want Stewart Newburgh as well.

The article states that other European destinations are being discussed, as well. As Frank Said, let's hope it brings the prices down.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Hopefully they will add somewhere like Norfolk, Raleigh, or Richmond. I had been expected such a move ever since the failure of their takeover bid for Aer Lingus.

Another one to watch is Air Berlin, which bought trans-Atlantic cheapie LTU.

Ryan Air's European network can get you a lot of places - see Ryanair.com - The lowest fares guaranteed - cheap flights, fly cheaper (click on ''Destinations'' for route map), but for LCC's I prefer EasyJet, Sky Europe, Wizz Air or Germanwings.

Steve flying them domestically in Italy was not the best. I felt like we were cattle about to be branded but I will say they got us there 30 min before we should have. I hope that they do better on international travel then they do in Europe. The way they make there money is on the overage weights on the suitcases. YOU have to see, The lines it causes at the check in counter because of it.

I would rank the LCC's I have flown on in the following order:
                    1. Easy Jet (I particularly like their very generous cabin baggage allowance, which is more generous than any legacy airline I have flown on, and they fly into more major airports)
                    2. Wizz Air
                    3. Sky Europe
                    4. Germanwings (higher add on fees than other LCCs)
                    5. Ryan Air

I don't see myself flying on an LCC trans-Atlantic, as I would hate to lose the miles on such a long trip, but I hope the competition brings the legacy fares down.

I travel light, so I have never had a baggage problem, but I do watch the weight limits.

I can't imagine that ISP could support (fill up!) 3 flights per day....but I am happy to hear it.
My timeshare at Fitzpatrick's Castle has a washer dryer so I can definitely meet the weight restrictions.
Nice to have this option as it cuts my commute time to JFK,LGA in half travel wise and 90% less anxiety in 'will I get their on time' factor

Islip rather than JFK certainly fits Ryan Air's profile.

If they come to NC, it will probably be Kinston rather than Raleigh-Durham!

One of their reasons for places like Islip and BWI is the connections with SWA. So, I doubt it would be Kinston in NC it would be RDU.

If you look at their European network, connections with other carriers do not seem to fit into their equation. Some of their European bases, like Frankfurt-Hahn have very few flights of any other carriers. The same is true of some of their destinations.

A big part of their stratedy to cut costs is to find airports where there are no other major players and they can therefore dictate terms to the airport authority. Kinston fits that bill. RDU does not. Greensboro also probably would.
