  • Need Advice on NYC

    Helppppppp

My cousin just called me. She does not travel much. She won tickets to see J. K. Rowling in New York at Carnegie Hall on Oct. 19th. She was wanting advice on how to do this. I never go to New York, so I am not really any help, but..... I follow a forum that has lots of helpful folks (Yall).

Here is what I need to do figure out. She needs to fly into New York (1. Which airport)

She then needs to get to Carnegie Hall (2. How from the airport)

She has be be three between 3 and 6 in the afternoon to pick up the tickets. (3. Traffic issues?)

She needs a resonable place to stay on Friday night (4. Suggestions?)

Then wants to fly out Saturday morning. (I suggested she stay and see New York, and she was not interested.

I appreciate any and all advice.

    Thanks.

Where is she flying from? She can book her tickets from her airport to any of the three major NYC airports, LGA, EWR (Newark), or JFK. JFK is marginally more challenging than the others, but if she can get the best fare to JFK, she should take it.

So that's step one. October 19 is a weekday, so if she arrives late morning or early afternoon, getting to Carnegie Hall between 3 and 6 should be pretty straightforward. That way she would avoid the morning rush hour, too.

If she's just coming in for this one activity, she should probably stay near Carnegie Hall.

She can fly out of Houston or Dallas.
Should she cab it, or bus, or subway?
      Thanks

Is she staying in NY or is she flying out the same day? Out of LGA is fast. JFK has the Tram which will take you to Jamaica, From Jamica you can get into the city. If you were cabbing it LGA is cheaper by Cab.
