Originally posted by bigfrankGarry that is a Very Nice gesture , we currently have 3 baskets of wine that will be given away as the door prizes. Everyone who bought a ticket are entered , just fill in your name and #. There is 1 basket of red , 1 white and the grand prize is the combo. We are going to have 2 different 50/50's , 1 is a $20 box which can have a nice payout and the other are those $1 tickets. I am really hoping that both the Martini bar and Cigar sales are a go, Will know more in a week I hope.
( hope to win a prize too...except good news ..if its a bottle ..current airline restrictions will mean we will have to drink it in NY ! )

Well I was going to surprise you guys but I am letting the cat out of the bag because it is not going to happen.
I was trying to get Joe and Justin from www.winestilsoldout.com to show up to say hello and talk about wines or to even have a table there. I know there will be at least 40 of his costumers there that I turned onto his site alone. Unfortunately Joe just replied to say he can not make it. But he did say he wanted to support us by taking out an ad but we do not have a place to put his ad Now I am not about to take his money but I would be willing to accept some higher end wines to raffle off and say where they came from. I would also hand out some fliers and announce that the high end wines came from Joe and that these wines are from a separate raffle. Is this to much to ask for or should I just say thank you for offering to help out. I do spend a ton of money on his site. Today alone I got in 6 bottles of Brunelos that cost $300. As much as this is for the church to have Joe show up I think it was more for both me and for me to give my friends a chance to meet him.
So what do I ask for?
Oh and BTW do we have any NY Giant Fans out there.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

OK now I just thought of asking Joe to Donate higher end wines like Brunellos or Ruffino or Tiganelo's or something from Antinori not just to raffle off but maybe to have as a live Auction for. Imagine if we got an Opus one? :Pope: I think that might be fun trying to win that one from me because I would out bid you all on that one. So what do you think about having a live auction?Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

Originally posted by wackymotherI love auctions, especially ones that are so expensive that there's no chance I could bid on anything. No Chinese auction at this event? (A Chinese auction is the same as a tricky tray, for those of you outside metro NYC.)
Could you imagine the look on Avery's face if we put up that Sugar Grill Brunello Gaja up for auction?Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

Now keep in mind if you are going to buy wine that you are paying less than the stores and restaurants do. We have an importer/distrubuter selling plus he is discounting it even further for us and giving the church $2 a bottle. So if you are paying $8 or $10 for a bottle that bottle sells for close to triple that. He also owns a half a vineyard in Italy that he just bought and is trying to get some cases sent over in time for the event.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms
