We found some nice rich sorta towns in between with Christmas shops and other stores. I would book a hotel there to see if you like it. IMO it is a great place to visit but I would not want to live there.

You're probably right. In fact, I should probably try and rent a place this year, and see the different areas for myself. It really has been years since I've been to the Cape.

I'm gonna see if I can find any good rentals.

Go for the Speedos, stay for the whale watching.

About 70 miles or 2 hours (may be more if accidents, holiday traffic, etc.)

When is whale watching season? And, how long as drive is it from Falmouth to PT, if you know? Thanks!

It's a slow, leisurely drive through interesting & quaint Cape villages.

I could be wrong on the distance, so anyone, feel free to correct any misinformation.

Yeah, I get it. It's like driving from Hampton Bays to Montauk.....I'm sure that it's a very lovely drive.

BTW, great link, I'm still reading through it, but have already learned much.

Yeah, George, and I used to go there, too. Those where the days of one screen movie theaters. Looking back on it...It was fun being able to talk, smoke, drink, whatever, while watching the movie. Oh well, that's progress.

Let me preface this by saying I have never been to the Sandcastle where I own a week 29 studio. It's in Provincetown and is on the beach. The m/f for a red week studio are only $290. White weeks are only $145. The studios do have a mini kitchen. We did have a $100 special assessment this year. There is a review from July on TUG and it's very favorable.

Until a few years ago, my family owned 2 cottages in Dennisport, so I love it there. The beach is one of the "warmer" areas on the Cape b/c of the Gulf stream or something, which is why my parents picked it long ago. I like being able to walk to the beach and bike ride or walk to enough places.
