I just received a letter from RCI saying the spa will be closed until the end of May and that the pool and fitness center will remain open. The cost to use the Spa went down to $15 per person per day from what they say was $28. I could be wrong but I recall paying $11 PP per day. Oh and BTW guess where I am going for my Birthday weekend in May.

But the only thing we used at the spa was the pool, and I don't remember paying anything for that. Were we supposed to?
BTW These Changes might be because of new ownership. Mr Monti passed on about 4 months ago.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

The charge is not for the spa if you are staying on an exchange. The per unit charge of $11 is per suite (2 people) and is for housekeeping service. You should not have been charged for spa access unless you are just day use and not an owner/exchange guest.Life is short, live it with this awareness.

For a studio and one br, the fee was $10.50 for the first 2 people. I wasn't aware of $28. But it is for the unit, as you can see, not for the spa....if you are on an exchange you do not pay for the spa day use....at least that has always been the way it was.Life is short, live it with this awareness.

I am sorry I d/n print out my confirm... of course they have changed it online in my account... but the truth is, they are really in need of increasing revenues to maintain that rambling place, so it's not surprising. They used to have a captive audience and make $ on the restaurant, but now there are other choices in the area. They do a fair bit in terms of catered events, but really, that place is HUGE, and on major primo real estate at the tip of the island on a gorgeous expanse of beach... they have been trying to book the hotel rooms with a mandatory meal plan, but that d/n go over too well, either.

Yes, owners pay the daily fee for the unit.
Agree, the location is prime real estate, and thus expensive. I didn't know that daily rentals could opt out of the MAP....used to be whatever you rented as a daily rate included in the rate a $$ credit used toward breakfast and dinner.Life is short, live it with this awareness.
