  • yet another snowstorm

I have had about enough of this:

Special Weather Statementfrom the National Weather Service:

NORTHERN FAIRFIELD-NORTHERN NEW HAVEN-NORTHERN MIDDLESEX- NORTHERN NEW LONDON-SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN- SOUTHERN MIDDLESEX-SOUTHERN NEW LONDON-ORANGE-PUTNAM-ROCKLAND- NORTHERN WESTCHESTER- 1051 AM EST WED MAR 1 2006
    ...WINTRY WEATHER EXPECTED THURSDAY...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL TRACK THROUGH THE OHIO VALLEY LATE TONIGHT...GRADUALLY STRENGTHENING AS IT MOVES ACROSS THE DELMARVA REGION AND INTO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY EVENING.

SNOW...POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SOME SLEET...WILL BEGIN THURSDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...BEFORE ENDING THURSDAY EVENING. AT THIS TIME...TOTAL SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT. THERE REMAINS CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM. THE TRACK OF THE STORM WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH SNOW AND SLEET FALLS ACROSS THE AREA.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES COULD EVENTUALLY BE ISSUED FOR A PORTION OR ALL OF THE AREA FOR THURSDAY.

Looking forward all the more to your week in Arizona, eh, Lawren? Temps and sunshine will cheer you up! Hang on, it is just around the corner!

I always get cranky about the March storms although they usually melt right away.

My visit with you can't get here fast enough!

We usually get the brunt of snowstorms, but the last blizzard only dropped 4-1/2 inches here and very little wind. The latest forecast is showing that we will also get the light side of this one too- I hope they are right. Last Saturdays snow was great-missed us completely.

Unbelievably warm weather this winter. Good for the heating bills. Still got to get thru March. shaggy

Latest forecast say 2" here starting in the post rush hour morning. Looks like the snow thrower will not get it's first trial tomorrow.

4-6" that's a nuisance not a storm! I was hoping for one good blizzard on a weekday before winter was over.

they've upped our total to 5 to 10 inches.

We are the only open school district. My son will leave here at 8:20 and be home by 11.

                    WHY BOTHER?

I just hope the job I'm supposed to work tonight cancels as I would need to be driving at 5PM to get there when the storm is supposed to be at it's height.

Yikes....you don't want to be driving at the height of the storm. Hopefully, it will be cancelled. Or, call in sick.

No schools are closed on Long Island, and my daughter is a new driver. She doesn't want me to drive her to school today. I'm praying for an early school closing...yet to be announced.

It's been a strange year for us here in upstate NY. Almost all of the storms this year have gone south of us. In that last big one we only got about 2 inches. We only expect about an inch today.
Part of me says that's great, but, on the other hand we are used to big snow winters and I just bought a new snow blower this year.

Why is it that every time I have to go into the city it snows. Last time we got 28 inches and I had tickets for a play. This time I have tickets for Billy Joel at the garden. I hope the LIRR is not going to be that much delayed tonight.

Our schools are closing at 1:30, but we never got a call. Gotta love it. This is definitely a nuisance storm. And of course I shipped everyone's ski/snowboard/snow gear (even their gloves, what a dummy) home from Utah and they're not here yet...

They just cancelled! Smart move. They are just beginning to salt and plow here.

I am truly a wimp when it comes to snow/sleet driving. Doesn't help that I live on a street with a steep hill
