  • How hard to trade to Cape Cod in Sept?

We are going to Cape Cod and Boston next September. I am from the Boston are (Duxbury to be exact) so we will visit my Dad, then hit Cape Cod. Obviously school is out, so how hard a trade will this be? I am only now beginning to research places so if you have any suggestions on II trades that would be great too. I grew up going to our cottage in Dennisport so I'm somewhat partial to that area as I know it well.

ETA: We are going in Sept. '09

September shouldn't be too difficult. I live on the Cape and can tell you that after Labor Day the traffic slows down considerably during the week...the weekends are still busy.

I think you will have luck getting Hyannis (Cape Winds) Dennisport (The Club at Cape Cod) will likely be your best bets. You csan forget Brewster...unless you just happen to get lucky with Brewster Green.

What week are you thinking about, and what are you trading?

Should be easy and less crowded. Weather should be nice to as long as you stay close to early Sept.

I see lots of shoulder season Cape Cod but as Joy said, what are u trading?
I own at Ocean Club at Smuggler's Beach - a great little resort in South Yarmouth.
There is usually availability at The Cove at Yarmouth which trades with II and RCI - I drove thru the property a few weeks ago and it is very well maintained.

There are actually weeks at the Cove right now when I just checked. I am trading a 1BR NC week that is a good enough trader to pull DVC, etc. I guess I should be putting in a request right now? We are flexible with the week, as long as it's after Labor Day. We would like a resort within walking distance of the beach.

ETA: I just realized that I will also have a 2BR Hot Spring, AK week 28 to trade that gets an AC too and also trades in RCI if I join RCI.

Ocean Club at Smugglers is on the beach - I would suggest u 'click thru' the II online directory to see which resorts are near the beach - I don't think the Cove is within walking distance.
Unfortunately, many of the resorts in Cape Cod are OFF the beach - Joy has a much better idea abut locations then I do.

manyof the resorts are also of 'standard quality' so in this case, having a good trader can be bad !

A good test is to 'search all destinations' from August 15, 2008 to next June/July and see what weeks your week can see even if it is off season - then u 'know' what quality level your week has.

I did notice that few of them had any quality rating. We don't really care as long as it's decent and in a good location. Our cottage growing up was pretty simple. If I call II can I see "down" in quality even if I can't on-line?
