"The actors all play their own instruments and they truly work together like a band"....."the songs are soulful and quite catchy"...."a laugh out loud experience"....."a striking study of a band with all the frustration and love that keeps them together even when its clear that it is time to move on"- NYtheatre.com

"A sensitive and intimate look at the different ways in which these five thirty-somethings have matured"- Backstage

33 TO NOTHING, written by Tectonic theater member Grant James Varjas, is an intimate, funny, and heartbreaking look at a struggling New York City band whose relationships are tested by different artistic ideals, goals, and sexual preferences.

After years of toiling in the lower east side clubs, these five friends and lovers become challenged by the onset of adult responsibilities and are forced to face that they might never become "the next big thing."

The play which takes place in a rehearsal studio, features five original songs which the actors perform as a band!

    The Bottle Factory Theater

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We LOVED this play. It's only a short run, try to catch it. This is NYC off-off-broadway theatre at its best. The performances were excellent, it is well-written, and the music was great (even my often critical BH thought so). Not your touristy broadway play, this shows in a quintessential downtown performance space (no marquis, look for the poster on the door), with great restaurants in the area for dinner before/after. We loved Lavagna, but there are others that look like fun too.
