  • Manhattan Club question

Is the Manhattan Club a difficult trade???
In looking at RCI site, apparently there are 3, 4, and 5 night stays. Does this mean an RCI week will not trade for a 7 night stay???
Is it easier to get week with RCI or with SFX??? I was trying to get into a Royal next March thru II. Someone OY wants to trade a week 11 at Royal Sands for same week at Manhattan Club. As usual, my dog trader will not pull up anything in RCI and I am not a member of SFX.
If someone would be kind enough search RCI and SFX for week 11 at Manhattan Club, I would really appreciate it. It may be a long shot,
but hell, trying to get a week at a highly rated is half the fun!!!
    Best wishes,
    Paul

    Paul,

Without going through all the obvious problems your post raises.

Manhattan Club is a regular sighting. It takes a good amount of power or a lot of points to get it thru RCI. We are far far past week 11 2009 for this trade. Weeks have shown up and gone for Aug & Sep already and points is in the late June 09 window now.

As for SFX, they have no system allowing us to search availability.

In answer to OP's question about # of nights.. most stays available through weeks are 7 nights. I have seen 5 night stays available through Extra Vacations (not cheap). Shorter stays may be available through points.

There have been lots of problems, all caused by RCI or its employees. The cancellations of overrides is one, but their own system allowed online booking (no override) of dozens of TMC weeks using lowly Blue SA weeks with $150 MFs.

Most of the 3 ,4,5, nights thats seen on RCI or weeks that MC owners sold to RCI for points, RCI then rents them out,
That's what I was told by RCI rep. Those are not exchange and do not go into the exchange pool,

Oh yes, it is alittle late for march 2009, but that's the easy time to exchange in MC as thats there slow season and RCI gets the largest bulk bank from Jan. to March
                    from MC

MFs should have nothing to do with exchange, if a highly rated and high demand resort can keep there MFs down that should be a plus,

I believe Spence was referring to the 'inequality' of exchanges into the Manhattan Club in the past - people who DID own high quality resorts could not get in while owners of lesser quality TS were - it is very hard to figure out how RCI operates.

Personally, even though I own at an RCI "1 in 4" resort - I do not agree with that practice...on the other hand, for people who have not been able to get into MC in the past - they might now have a better chance because I can not go back for 4 years

It's all about supply and demand.
