I am soooo jealous, I wish I could go, but 18 hours notice just wasn't enough for me this week. I want a full report.

        Enjoy!!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I only saw this first thing this morning and have a dental appointment.

                Loved it.
It's part of a 13 part series which will be broadcast on Sundance Channel starting in December. Other eps are Bill Clinton, The Police, Mellancamp, Elton John... sadly this was the last to be filmed as I would have loved some others!

Cameras rolled for 2 hours for the one hour broadcast.
Elvis chatted and sang two songs and warmed us up, then settled down to interview James; some pretty freewheeling conversations.
In between talking, James sang a Hank Williams' song, another by George Jones, as well as a duet with Elvis on the Everly Brothers'/ Carole King song "Crying in the Rain". James didn't like how it came out so they re did it - he asked if we'd mind
He did an a capella version with 4 members of his band of "Lonesome Road", sang "Fire and Rain", and ended with Sweet Baby James.
He's still got it, the voice was spot on and fabulous.

It was cool to be in the Apollo, a place i'd always wanted to see.
Small venue, maybe 1500 seats and many of these were blocked off by cameras so even fewer people were there.
People I talked to either got free tickets from a local radio station as I did, or from a Ticketmaster email that they received at 7:30 last night and had til 8 PM to respond. Kind of a strange way to "paper the house" which is what the radio station said they wanted to do.

Given the relatively small venue, there's not a bad seat in the house. My seat was second row in the first balcony, but I knew they moved people down to fill in the seats, not wanting any empties to appear on camera. I kept my eye on the usher and managed to score an 8th row seat.
                Nice day all around.

I'll post when the series airs.

                    Wow that sounds just awesome!!!
I'm so glad to know someone who went, and that it was such a great night.
I have never been to the Apollo, what a legendary venue.
