  • 3rd snowfall of the season

Starting tomorrow morning 3-6" statewide for CT with the 6" expected in my area. # 4 expected for the weekend. CT already set a new record high for annual state precipitation this year (since record keeping began).

Same here Tony. Looks like we are in for about 4 new inches tomorrow.
Weather can't seem to make up it's mind this year, first we get hit with ice storm, then about 18" of snow over a couple of days, then 50 degrees, now more snow. Weird year!!

Same here. I have to drive my mother home from the Boston area to Long Island this weekend. I had been thinking that I had a 4 day window within which to schedule but now I find that I need to take care of some of her business while I'm there so it makes it a 2 day trip instead of one and my options for travel days are more limited because of having to schedule activites when businesses are open. I'm tired of snow and the winter has bearly begun.

I'd rather have the snow than the ice. We're in PA, about an hour north of Phila. So many people have those big SUVs and think they can get through anything. It's amazing how fast they drive in icy conditions. To all of you in the New England area - stay warm and safe!

We're at Mount Snow, my kids have had the worst conditions the past few days -- two days of rain, ice yesterday, today tons of ice and awful wind - conditions so bad that the mountain was selling full day lift tickets for half price today, and it's a holiday week -- but my kids have been out every day... we're leaving tonight and of course they are lobbying hard for staying longer to enjoy some better conditions with the snow that's coming, but I'm determined to head home tonight before the storm...

Ugh, and it's only Dec.....I hope that the storm wasn't too bad.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Coming down pretty heavy now. After some experience with 4 wheel drive in the snow and ice, I always opted for the front wheel drive car instead. 4 wheels spinning and sliding are more out of control than 2. And for those all wheel drive people- just remember that you can get going better with more traction, but the brakes are the same and you can't stop any better.

We have just wrapped up our 13th snowfall. Only had 2 inches at the house, but over 15 inches were recorded not too far north of us. We are in a cycle, snow one day, then cold (-10 this morning) then snow again.

Hello from snowy, near blizzard-like conditions, Newport, RI!

There is nothing colder than watching snow come down over whitecaps ina harbor. Brrrrrr.

So much for all the "First Night" celebrations although everyone says this should end before 5PM. I do not think they will have the fireworks display that we could have watched from out living room.

Making the best of it and hoping the restaurants in walking distance will be open for dinner.

                  Happy New Years Everybody!

Lots of snow coming down pretty heavy in southeastern MA since 10am. I guess I will be cancelling our New Year dinner reservations. I looked forward to trying Ruth Chris finally.

                    Happy New Years to all!

It's supposed to calm down some. Sorry about the fireworks But I'll bet the restaurants will work very hard to be open tonight. Whatever you do, enjoy yourself.
