  • Time for TS4Ms meet in NYC area

At the last meet at the German restaurant in Brooklyn/Queens my wife and I said we'd be back in the area in April. Well, April is almost here and I have not been on the 4MS in a while. But I am here now!

We'll be in Manhattan from 3/27 thru 4/5. Any day but 4/5 should work for us. Friday 3/27 we have an easy flight (ie, only a 1 hour time change) up from New Orleans. We check in this day at the MC so we'll probably get a room early. After a week there, we move to a hotel for 2 nights just 'cause we like being near you Easterners so much!

We've been to Ben's Deli near Frank's place. We've been to the German place. Where to next? (Either of the 2 previous places works fine again too.)

Can we please go somewhere in Manhattan--preferably on the west side? Getting to Queens is a little challenging for the New Jersey crowd.

Frank, do you mean O'Neils on 3rd Avenue in the 40s?

Oneil's is one of the biggest sports bar/restaurant in Queens. The owners daughter married Brian Leach of the NY Rangers. Jesse Orosco of the NY Mets lived in the the above apartment. many famous sports Celebrities hang out there but you may not know them even if you are talking to them.

As far as going to the City parking is a night mare, I rather drive 40 to Long Island than drive in the City. I would not mind going to the Chart house in Weehawken NJ.

What is good about that they are all a train ride away.

Drats....I'm in NJ at the Fairway Villas for a spa weekend with some girlfriends! I'm in the city during the week though, and maybe we can grab a sandwich.

                  I'm with Wacky..

But I really shouldn't weigh in, as I'm in CA that week. I may have some time on the 28th, but it depends on what kind of shape I'm in hectic-wise before I leave on the 29th...

                      Becco = Frank

                      LOL Wacky,
I remember The Someone who recommended Becco was Frank.

Thanks to his suggestion, I've been there for the all you can eat salad and symphony of pasta lunch, it was very very good. Have sent others there and they all felt the same way.

Hey Becco is my family's favorite restaurant the Whole WIDE WORLD. I am not kidding!

Becco is run by Lidia Bostianch. Her son Joe Started that place. If anyone is not familiar with Lidia Bastianich she is a World Class chef. You can see her show if PBS on Sunday afternoon's.

She also owns Felidia's on the East Side. Felidia is one of the Best Italian restaurants in the world! See Authentic Italian Recipes from TV Cooking Shows.

Lidia and her family live across the bay in Douglastson Queens.

Sorry Frank I just had to plug Lidia and Becco. If we end up at Becco my wife will definitely be there!
