  • Gurney's Timeshare Owners continue and gain some ground

The battle continues, but it seems that this time around, the Monte family will not win without some bloodshed. Gurney's Timeshare Owners have managed to bring the NY AG into the battle, and are working to get a true rep on the board of the HOA.

Gurney's Timeshare Owners This website gets updated, and may not always have the very latest info, but there seems to be some hope that the HOA will keep pushing back at the Montes.

Good news! It is long past time for owners to get control of this HOA.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I spoke to Mr Monte yesterday, He has no idea what will happen. He did say that many owners gave up there deeds and because of the short fall in funds that is why the MF is so high.

Mr. Monte is full of it. The Monte family has paid huge annual salaries to people who do not even work there. They also had control of the so-called second mortgage, and mismanaged funds so much that they have forced owners (such as us) into deeding back to them....they used assessments to force owners into this position. They have solicited owners to rent, then held rental payments back or made the claim that the unit didn't rent....the shenanigans are long....We hung on as long as we could but had to fold...but they want to screw all other owners out of the possibility of making any money should they sell the resort. They have stacked the deck, and the HOA and lawyers and the AG are on their trail....it is at least possible that some of the owners who have stuck with them will have a chance to recoup something should a sale go on....at the very least, the assessments and MF increases seem to be thwarted momentarily as the HOA fights for a seat on the board.

What resort has their sales rep for resales tell folks that they shouldn't buy? If they wanted MF's why didn't they sell the units available at fire sale? What resort offers to sell current owners a points program when they are secretly trying to get owners to deed back and plan to sell the resort? What resort tells their sales rep to tell owners who wish to sell their weeks that there is no market for it? I will tell you who: Gurney's.

The Monte propaganda is to always "omit" facts on proxy ballots and HOA has good legal counsel now.

I say it will be sweet if the HOA can cut into the Monte action when final dust settles. Too bad we just couldn't afford the battle anymore.
