where to stay in Boston

We'll be in Boston for four nights Oct. 17-20 winding up our leaf peepin' tour.
We'll turn our car in on the l7th, so need something close to public transportation and also within a cab ride to the airport. I'm hoping to get something on Priceline so need suggestions for the best area for a first time tourist to stay. TIA

I'm staying at Marriott's custom House near the touristy area. Got a good deal with my points. You might want to check it out. It's near the airport and also near all the tourist buses etc.

We're primarily interested in the history of the area. We love seafood so would appreciate some restaurant recommendations. Would love to see the Boston Pops, but there are no scheduled performances for the time we'll be there. We will already have spent one week in Newport and hope to see Salem on our way to Lincoln, NH. If possible, I'd like to keep the hotel price at about $100-125. It seems that the hotels on Priceline are in that price range.

I stayed here last August. Great location within walking distance of the T MBTA.com > Official Website for Greater Boston's Public Transportation System and
Faneuil Hall. Faneuil Hall Market Place Owner was very responsive and everything went very smoothly. I'm not sure but I think I paid $125 a night. My computer crashed over the winter so I don't have any of the old emails.

It says $2,000 a month with a 6-month minimum. I think that $12,000 is a bit above the OP's budget.

Yeah, I don't know what that's all about. I guess they are going in a different direction with their rentals now. Thanks for pointing that out.
