  • Checking in from Oak n Spruce

Just a quick hello from the technological black hole that is Oak N Spruce. For anyone that may still be confused about room sizes/configurations, an RCI confirmation that sleeps 6/6 is NOT necessarily a Presidential Unit... I am wondering if the 6/6 units in Interval are guaranteed Presidential - I will see if I can find a manager to enlighten me...

I am working on a room change, more in a day or two once we see how that pans out.

Weather has finally cleared up, so things are looking up

    Any pets running around?

    G,
I think the 6/6 are supposed to be the Presidentials. Good luck.

Well, I think the pictures I posted of mine and Irene's unit was the bottom of the barrel - not that there was anything wrong with it - very clean - but just 'dated'. In fact as townhouse style with no upstairs neighbors it was kind of nice.
Wait, Irene didn't have a closet....and there were no mirrors or waste baskets

      Are u 'worse' then mine?
And yes, curious about the 4 legged friends.

My guess would be not. Silverleaf bought this resort and many of the units were already there and it was under II. Then they added SL units and those were RCI. Not sure if owners can use both now. I think the Presidential units are the 3 bedroom units on second floor of one building and they are non-lockouts. Do you see any SL built 2 bedroom Presidentials there?

Yes, sometimes the upstairs neighbors can put a slight tarnish on those Presidential Units....

Nope, it's a bottom of the barrel in "decor," AND we have upstairs [STRIKE]elephants [/STRIKE]neighbors! I have a friend coming up later this week to a 1 bedroom unit, hers is the "townhouse," a 1 bedroom duplex. Dated, but nobody upstairs. It looks almost cute.

Pat, my unit looks about as bare as your pics. But the floor tiles in the baths and kitchen are pretty gross. I need to wear shoes inside (and I don't even like wearing shoes outside).

There are plenty of pets here. And they asked when I got here if I had brought any, which I had not. BUT, my online exchange confirmation has been miraculously changed by RCI to indicate that "as of July 1, 2009, no pets are allowed." Another reminder to PRINT YOUR RCI CONFIRMATIONS. Not the first time the rules have changed post-confirmation

            More later.....

I can't tell. The front desk staff don't seem too knowledgeable about the various units. It appears there are three Presidential buildings, they all look pretty new. I don't know if they are all 3 bedrooms, but will try to find out. There are plenty of nice 2 bedrooms in some newer "non Presidential" buildings, I'm not sure if SL built them, but they have big jacuzzis. I saw one yesterday that had flat screen tvs, but that is definitely not a universal feature, though I think it was a pretty new building.

we were in building 30, unit 591 and it was very nice. There were no buildings behind us, and other than having to climb all those steps it was lovely.

The Presidential that wacky was in (that I shared) and that Linda was in were both 2-bedroom units.

I was just looking at the map and Building 30 has three floors. The first two floors...each has 2 units with 3 bedrooms each. These are non-lockoffs and are called presidentials too.

Glitter.....I have no experience with the Oak n Spruce, but wanted to wish you a great trip! Have a great week.

If need be, there's always air plugs.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

It figures that the nice 2 bedrooms in bldgs 25 - 30 are also Presidential.. There are quite a few other bldgs that have those same nice units. Btw, I checked out my friend's one bedroom and it is really nicet - duplex w king master upstairs, kitchen/living and a 3/4 bath downstairs. spacious deck off the living room. The kitchen has been redone tho the bath has not.Overall decor similar to my unit but this one is considerably nicer and the layout is great especially if you are putting kids in the living room

I think Norm and Tony have stayed here. From what I heard this was a nice resort all around. I did not know about the Presidential units.

Well I just parlayed my crappy unit here into an upgrade for next week in Newport -- so it's not all bad
