  • Need 1 night in Seattle

I need to book a Saturday night to see my Friend play the against the Jets. Where do I stay that is close to the stadium but also close to the Flying fish and space needle and not far from the airport? I most likely use Priceline. Also do I need to book a car or cab it?

Your want to be near the Space Needle or downtown. In Priceline, the primary zones you should work with are Space Needle, Lake Union, and downtown.
I would skip the car. Take the train from SeaTac airport to downtown Seattle. If you wind up in a downtown hotel you should be within walking distance of the hotel. If you're in Lake Union or Space Needle areas, get off the train at Westlake (last stop for the train anyway), then hail a cab to your hotel. Or if you want the exercise walk it.

For the game if you are downtown, you can easily walk to Qwest Field. If you are in Lake Union or Space Needle area, either take a cab or a bus.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Most of the time we stay at the Marriott Courtyard Lake Union and get a city view room that includes a really good view of the Space Needle. There is also a restaurant on the first floor for a quick bite.

Marriott Courtyard has a Pioneer Square location really close to the stadiums.

Our favorite hotel in Seattle is the Grand Hyatt which is right downtown. It is convenient to everything and is very nice. The airporter bus stops and picks up right at the door.

Good point about the Airporter Bus. Since I have no need for the bus, I often forget about that service.

I went with the ease of using the train form the air port to Downtown and since I am going to the game I like the idea of walking there. I used Priceline and got A Nobble house Hotel for $129 a night $157 with all taxes and fees in. http://www.edgewaterhotel.com/ Now I just have to worry about getting to the space needle and the flying fish market, Time is limited I am coming in Saturday at 11am and leaving on a red eye at 1am Monday morning.

Do I need to buy any train tickets or passes for the space needle. BTW what is the space Needle?

We stayed at the Edgewater twice in 2006. It was very nice. We walked to the Space Needle, but it is a steep uphill climb. We also walked to the market.

                  Enjoy your stay,

                  Nancy

YUP, its all uphill from the waterfront. If you get a room with a window you could fish for squid or Mudshark.lol

Edgewater is actually north of downtown.

Still walkable to Qwest Field - 2 miles at most. You can also stay by the waterfront all the way - no hills to climb. But I suggest you make the climb to the market and stop at the Pike Place Pub for a pint of refreshment on the way. I recommend the Kilt Lifter ale.

To get to the Space Needle you can walk up hill a bit, and catch the monorail.

My favorite bar in the market area is Kells. http://www.kellsirish.com/seattle/index.php

The building that Kells is located in was a morgue. On the top shelf of booze is a cool decanter that says "Holy Water". I asked what do you mix that with and was then told the story of employees having to spray this at orbs.
