The Las Vegas and Atlantic City versions of the Price is Right are really auditions for replacement hoses for Bob Barker, who will be retiring in June.
The show is very much like the real thing. Here are a few of tha major differences:
1. Contestants row changes for every segment. So more people have a chance to come up on stage, four people are brought to contestants row each segment, and then the three who do not get win and get called on stage to play a game get t-shirts.
2. Instead of being chosen for "contestants row" by being enthusiastic, people are selected based on guessing the price of an item from an old Price is Right show. For instance, when I went, it was an a rattan chair with the big back like a fan. The showcase showdown is the same thing. It is two people who are closest to the price of another item.
3. You guess these prices on a touch screen in the half-hour before the show starts.
The prizes for most of the segments are similar to the real show...a refrigerator, a tv set, etc. For the showcase showdown, the winner does not get the whole showcase, they get prizes worth about $1,000. I think if they guess the price EXACTLY they may get everything in the showcase.
Celine is great, worth the money, I think. If you should get on stage at 'The Price is Right,' be sure that someone is taking pictures. I think that you'll do good....sounds like fun.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
Frank, I hope you enjoy it. I hear she's great...but I also read recently that she has a throat problem, and won't be appearing for awhile. ??? Maybe that was not correct. Jean
