  • Question

My mother and godmother are interested in staying at the Camlin(Seattle) for a few nights next June...followed by Victoria for 5 nights...and back to the Camlin for 3 nights. They dont need a car in Seattle...but what's the best way for them to get to Victoria...and I assume they'd need a car once there? Should they rent it in Seattle? I've truly no idea what their options are. They'd really like to go through the islands because they've heard the ferry trip is beautiful...but I think it drops you off on the far end of victoria?

    Anyway...thoughts? (and thanks in advance)

We took the ferry from Port Angeles (not Seattle) to Victoria and the ferry dropped us off in the inner harbor, which if I remember correctly was within walking distance of most everything. We did have a car though, so my memory might be faulty. I would think the website for the ferry would have good information though.

Edited to add link to website for ferry. There are maps of the terminals both in Seattle and Victoria.

Ok, I lived in the Seattle Area for 3 yrs. If I were you, I would rent the car in Seattle just make sure your allowed to take it into Canada...Then drive about 30 min north to Edmonds, Wa and take the Edmonds ferry to Kingston, Wa. Then drive from Kingston to Port Angeles, Wa. Then take the Port Angeles Ferry to Victoria.

Another alternative would be to take the Seattle Ferry to Bainbridge island and drive to Port Angeles.

Or you could drive about 2hrs North to Anacortes and take the Anacortes Ferry over to Sidney, BC and drive down to Victoria.

Also if you go to Google Maps it will have the ferry routes if you zoom in close enough.

The Ferry does drop you out of the way of things. I think it was about a 30 min or so drive from the ferry terminal to the city of Victoria.

Victoria is very beautiful. The people there are just soooo friendly too. Im sure your Mother and Godmother will enjoy their visit.

These are all good ideas but there is the more straight forward way. Take the Victoria Clipper out of Seattle. It leaves from the Seattle waterfront and brings you into the inner harbor in Victoria.
