I took a ride around the block to take a look at the Park Regency this afternoon. Last time I looked (3 or 4 years ago), it was in bad shape but had just been taken over by Wyndham, or so I recall. I don't know what happened with that, but it is not a Wyndham property and is now managed by TPI.
Several nice changes since I was last there -- the lobby has been completely renovated. Very modern, with a large flat screen TV and an area with complimentary coffee/tea. The third floor rooms have all been tastefully redone from top to bottom -- new furniture, kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances. Bathrooms not schmancy but clean and bright. The one I looked at was a nice size (the bathroom, not the unit, as per note below).
I was told that the first and second floors are not yet done, but are in progress or planned.
The one bedroom units there are small -- really only good for a couple. And I'm pretty sure the bedroom had only a full size bed, but if it matters call and double check -- it could have been a queen but I don't think so... The mattress was new and comfortable (at least to my limited testing). The one bedroom units (sleep 4) are less than half the size of the one bedrooms at Park Plaza where we are staying (though these are unusually large). I was told there are also some "One and half's" at Park Regency that are larger. Only 6 two bedroom units at the property.
The resort offers a shuttle service to Deer Valley and Park City Mountain resort. It is not "on demand" but the schedule is posted in the lobby and works around the typical ski day.
On the down side - aside from the unit size - the hallways are outdoors which makes for a chilly trip to the elevator and pool (enclosed).
Location is just off Bonanza in Prospector Square. About a mile or a little more to Park City Mountain or Main Street.
For the time being, depending on MFs, this could be a chance for people to pick up some cheap ski weeks before word gets out on the refurb and reviews improve...
