We are looking to go to Park City, UT as an option for October. What is there to do there for 5 young adults - ages 62-72?

I went in May so the weather would probably be similar in October.
Honestly it's a beautiful little town but there isn't a whole heck of a lot to do there if you're not going skiing. Maybe if the film festival is in town it would be better.
I ate a buffalo burger in one of the restaurants and we did some chachi's shopping. The alcohol content in Utah's spirits are lower than other states so drinking is kinda frowned upon. Went to a beautiful park and hiked a little thru the forest and in the snow.
Don't take this the wrong way but I'll just begin by saying that I'm in my 40's and I had trouble with the altitude. Given your ages I'd be cautious. I only went for the day and was glad that it was only one day because the altitude really affected me. Didn't feel better til we got back to Salt Lake. I live at sea level so in the week I was in Utah I couldn't adjust.

There's some excellent hiking in the area, such as Deer Valley, if the trails won't be under snow yet, which I'm not sure about. Also you can go to Sundance for a day. Our stay was in late June so maybe weather doesn't compare, but we really enjoyed ourselves for a week. (Altitude wasn't a big problem for us youngsters (57 & 61 ) - we were a bit more tired maybe.)

We have spent a lot of time there when we lived in SLC. You can take fun chairlift rides at the resorts. There is fun shopping as well as outlet shopping. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. A few days there is plenty for us outside of ski season. We usually stay at Marriott MountainSide where they have a pool at the base of the mountain.

It takes practically no time to drive into SLC, and there's lots to do there: tour the temple grounds, see the founder's home, attend a Morman Tab. Choir rehursal (by the way, on Sunday morning, there is a 30-40 minute rehursal for the radio show right before the radio show; it's free), good museums, including a planatarium, and you can always drive down to the lake or out to Antelope Island."You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity."
