This area is one I want to visit too. We almost did an exchange there for this summer, but with a 97 YO MIL did not want to be that far from home...just in case.

Use this link to find lots to do in the area

Visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks are the big attraction for us. Other than that, I wouldn't want to stay there. Both of the parks are quite spectacular and different from each other. We did a 5 day tour of the area staying at the parks as well as doing the scenic Hwy 12 loop trip. You will see some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere on this loop trip but NOT at St. George itself.

Here are 2 links to our Utah trip report and also pictures. It also includes Death Valley and Las Vegas but the focus and purpose of the trip was the 5 day Utah loop tour.

We were there in the summer, and went to a performance of Les Miserables at a "theater in the rocks" called Tuachan (spelling?) that was spectacular. I don't know when they close down or what their schedule is, but it was well worth it.

Eric, you will love it!! Of course you will do Bryce & Zion and I would recommend losing one night at the ts and stay overnight at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I like it better than theSouthern view that everyone else goes to. They don't have as many overlooks but it is WOW!!!!! shaggy

I was there 2 weeks ago fort the first time, Pretty much what everybody else said, the canyons for sure, we also did the valley of fire on the way back to Vegas and looked at the petroglyphs. One trip was enough for us.
