  • Rams Horn Village First time visit questions

I was just able to obtain an exchange into Rams Horn Village for June 21-28, 2014 (I know how do you plan two years in advance). My family and I have never visited Colorado (or any of the Rocky Mountain area) and I have been strongly considering taking a summer trip to that region for some time. From what I have read this is a very nice resort with excellent access to RMNP. I have two kids who at the time of travel will be 10 and 6 so I do want to make sure there will be enough activities and points of interest to keep them entertained. They do love wildlife and outdoor activities but would not be thrilled with a week of just sightseeing.

I know individulal tastes and preferences vary greatly but for those folks who have visited this area would Rams Horn Village be a good location for a first visit to the Rocky Mountain region?

    Thanks for any feedback.

It's a great resort in a great location. RMNP is wonderful and there are tons of things to do in Estes Park, esp. in the summer. They have nightly concerts starting in late June. Check out the websites for RHV, RMNP and Estes to see if you think your kids will like it. I would be surprised if they didn't.

We were always in EP in June, I always started searching 2 years in advance, and never got RHV.

      Good job.

It is at a Y in the road, one side going into RMNP and the other side actually going to the Y (Camp of the Ozarks). I never thought of it before, but the Y may offer some activities.

When we went, we would fish, eat taffy , golf, drive the park and other mtn roads, go to the Continental Divide, take Trail Ridge to the Western Entrance, casino at Central City/Blackhawk, meet up with frat brothers and their wives, and lots other stuff.

I just rented out a week we own near the Western Entrance. To a Family of five sounding a lot like yours.

      Have fun.
