Those of you who know Whistler... I have been told that the greens there are the equivalent of blues elsewhere. Any truth to that??

At Whistler, there are some very nice green runs which at some US areas might be blue. But, they are easy and well groomed but not like some greens in the US which are extremely flat and uninteresting.

The sad thing is I seem to really do best on the flat and uninteresting. I spend way too much time enjoying the scenery to deal with steep and interesting.

Skiing is a sport I really want to enjoy - just haven't overcome the fear of speed and height yet...

Thank you for the response - Babs

I can't speak to ski areas outside western North America.

The green runs at Whistler are comparable to green runs at every other resort in the US I've visited - they most assuredly are not comparable to the blue runs at other resorts.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I think that's pushing it a bit to say the carte blanche. There's parts of some runs that might be moderately more challenging but nothing major and definitely not all of them.

If you're really concerned, take the first day and spend some time with the guides that offer to show you around the mountain. If you like scenery, you won't be disappointed.

After another great week in Utah, my crew has voted to go back again next year... so maybe we'll get to Whistler in 2009... but the trip to SLC from NY sure is easy, and the weather can't be beat. Add to that the fact that we own a week there and have vouchers good for next year's flights...
