How is the Estes Park, CO are in Mid September? We have a unit on hold and need to decide whether to keep it or not. It is at the Rams Horn Resort in 2008. I noticed that they have a 1-4 rule, do they enforce it?

We would love to be in EP, RMNP and at Ram's Horn in September. Nice place, nice place and nice place. That was always a busy month for us, so was never a vacation time. We were always in EP the first of June.
At that time of year, you'll probably find yourself in the middle of a rut.

Call the resort about their rules. They have always been easy to talk to.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

This past September I was on a horse riding trip in the mountains at Buena Vista, CO, (elevation 8500 feet) much further south than Estes Park. It snowed on us one day, and was in the low 20's at night.
Mid September in the Colorado mountains can have very cold weather, so take lots of layers!

The first week of June can be cold, too. That is normally the week that Trail Ridge is plowed open each year.
Plus, if memory serves me right, EP is 3 or 4 thousand feet higher than Denver, so it is almost always cooler/colder.
I think the Cape Crusader should just come by and pick us up, and let us go along!

I have not heard about Estes Co in years and now It came up twice in a month. Last month I saw something on TV regarding Estes Park. I think if I did not get my programs confused that there is a famous haunted house there. I knew of Estes since I was a child because I used to build flying model rockets and one of the main company's was Estes from CO.Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

When we usetago, we stayed at the Golden Eagle. Looking toward town from The Golden Eagle, sitting on higher ground on the other side of town is the Old Stanley, so named (as one might expect) because the inventor of the Stanley Steam Engine built it. It's a cool old place.
When we were there once, a movie company was there, at the Stanley. I could google it, of course, but I'm thinking it was for a TV version of the Shining.
When we first went to EP, the Old Stanley was affiliated with RCI.
The Baldpate Inn, across from one of my favorite little fishing places on the outskirts of EP, is also said to be haunted. We had a lunch there, it being recommend by our former veternarian.
What the heck, I did google it:
Ghosts and Hauntings of Estes Park Colorado
It says that Stephen King spent five months at the Stanley writing The Shining, that the area and the Stanley gave him the inspiration for it.
There are other good links for The Stanley on google.
