Skiing - Park City during Spring Break

We are looking to go skiing Spring Break 2008 at either The Canyons or Park City. The problem is our spring break is late next year: April 4 -11. Just wondering what the opinion is regarding skiing that time of year? Take into account we're from Michigan and used to skiing on ice....

But will they be open?

Considering that Easter is March 23, a lot of spring breaks will be over by March 31. Does anyone have any historical experience with early Easter and ski resort closings?

This past season I think Park City was open until right around April 15, while the Canyons closed about a week earlier. However, conditions were VERY poor in the couple of weeks leading up to the closings, with many, many trails closed, and those that were open none too good, for the most part. That said, this past season saw almost zero snowfall after a big storm in early March. Total snowfall was roughly 10 feet less than the average season. Temps were cold enough for snow at night, most nights in March, even though highs were unseasonably warm for a couple of weeks, but it just never seemed to snow. I was there March 11-18, and even then it was ok, nothing great.

Like Pit said, total crapshoot that late in the season. It can be just fine then, but you'd be taking a pretty big risk.

Slush and more slush!

I skied the last ski week at Park City in 2005. It was a lot of slush! I waxed my skies every day because if you did not you came to a complete standstill!
