There are several routes for getting to YNP. By having time on your side maybe you could find a different route rather than one you've made already.

Have you been thru Eastern Oregon or hit spots in Idaho? Some spots to search about... Columbia Gorge, Crater Lake, Hell's Canyon.

South Jenny Lake camp grounds at Grand Teton NP was a good site from which to view all of that range.

You may derive benefit from Travel Tales/ Trip West Chapter Two:
    http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...ter-two-2.html
That is from Cody, Wy to Glacier, NP and then a scenic route to Spokane.

I wish I had Chapter Three completed as it covers Columbia Gorge, Day trips out from Portland and the Olympic Penensula to Mt Baker tour. Have you done these?

Might I suggest camping at South Jenny Lake, Grand Teton NP to view the Tetons.

When you must move on, run to take in Old Fathful and other geysers of that area, then head back east around Yellowstone Lake and make camp up at Canyon Village and view Yellowstone Gorge and Falls.

Be sure to run out East Gate toward Cody, at least to the Buffalo Bill Dam. Going into Cody is only necessary for saying you went there.

Return to camp and run around Yellowstone all you need to.
      Take in Mammoth Hot Springs.

Go out the Northeast Gate a bit thru Cooke City located in a small valley in the Absaroka - Beartooth Mountains. Go on thru Red Lodge and Roscoe to Columbus. Then you might wish to go to Glacier NP via Great Falls, Conrad and Saint Mary. Riding I-90 all the way to Missoula was a lot of open land forever. Part of our land - Yes. But I would go differently next time.

Ask for inputs from others. I'm sure many have been to YNP. Maybe some have experience on getting cross country to Glacier.

Things To See and Do in Wyoming

If you go to Yellowstone NP, take time to run over to see CODY Museum and Buffalo Bill Dam.
