We are staying in Breckenridge the first full week of August. One of my daughters and her family including children ages 11 & 13 want to do a river rafting trip for a day.
I got this information from one of the outfitters:
Specifically, you asked about a trip that would be great for your family and I would strongly recommend KODI’s Browns Canyon Trip.
Browns Canyon on the Arkansas River is a great choice and is one of our most popular sections of river. This is a great class III - middle of the road type trip with great scenery and fun rapids. Browns Canyon is great in its diversity of both calm water and rapids, making it a memorable experience for both the first time boater as well as the veteran paddler. We have two half days and one full day that depart daily. The meet times for the half days are 8:15 AM and 12:30 PM. Both half days meet at our Buena Vista office located on hwy 24/285. The full day adventure meets at our Buena Vista office at 9 AM or at our Frisco office at 7:30 AM. There is a $15 per person transportation charge for guests meeting us at our Frisco office. Minimum age for Browns Canyon is 7. Pricing for the half days are $48 for adults and $44 for children 12 and under. For the full day adults are $79 and children $69.
Has anyone been on this trip around this time of the year and if so, what do you think about it? Do you think advanced reservations are needed?
