Yellowstone Village - 24-hr grace period - anyone been there?

Any thoughts on this resort - during a peak summer week? I'm on the 24-hr grace period, all feedback appreciated!

It says 10 miles from park entrance... how much time would be saved every day by staying here rather than Island Park Village, anyone know? (We once stayed at Glacier Wilderness Resort, and wouldn't have wanted to spend more time than that getting to the park entrance every day.)

Never been to Yellowstone or Grand Tetons yet ... we'd like to see both. Would have preferred a shoulder season week just to avoid crowds, but this popped up and I just confirmed it, since I don't see it often. Looks like there are more music festivals etc nearby during peak season though, maybe that's a trade-off. ??

Would a week in West Yellowstone plus a back-to-back in Jackson Hole (if I can get one) be a good idea?

Laurie I played with a week at Y'Stone Village and wish I had kept it. It was a 3BDRM for end of August. The "other people" that live with me wanted to go to England instead.

From my research, it is a "plain Jane" resort with location. I imagine you wouldn't spend much time at the resort as you will be at the park.

We will eventually get to Y'Stone but I think we will go with TPI and stay at Island Park Village.

Please let us know what you decide.

Lawren, you will have a great time in England, I'm sure! The good thing about timesharing is that next year comes around so quickly, always another trip to plan.

The 3-BR unit I just confirmed is probably the same one you had on hold, I think they only have one, and here's where you can see the pictures: National Park Reservations -Yellowstone Village Condos
but you have to click on the 2-BR Paintbrush to see Paintbrush photos, their 3-BR link goes to wrong photos (or wrong captions). They look like little attached pre-fabs, but pretty nice.

Of all the weeks to appear online, this is July 4 check-in - probably the worst for traffic - definitely not my first choice of weeks for other reasons too - but this year July 4 was the week of a very cool folk harp festival at Big Sky which I think is an annual event, I would have driven up there for 2 of the nights' concerts.

I'll post if we decide to cancel, and wait for a less-busy week instead.
