We are going this weekend to Breckenridge and staying at the Grand Timber Lodge. We are doing an exchange thru II. Any suggestions on what to do? We have no plans - just a getaway for 5 days. Thanks, David

I don't have any suggestions but would be interested in your opinion of this resort. We have an exchange booked for July of next year at Grand Timber. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

We were there on an II exchange in July awhile back. Very nice resort. We were in a 2 bdrm that looked out on the small pool. The little town is charming and fun to stroll around. We went on a couple of walks that are well marked easy paths on the outskirts of town. There are some activities through the concierge desk that sounded interesting but they all filled up before we got a chance to book anything so check them out right away. There are a huge variety of restaurants in town and of course a ton of shops for you to contribute to boosting the economy!
There were exhibits in the park almost every day and an outdoor art festival down by the Hyatt. We found plenty to do. The resort is located up the hill from town but they run a regular shuttle. We ended up walking most of the time. The altitude could be a challenge if you aren't used to it but we live at a high altitude so it wasn't a factor for us.
Have fun.The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all or cannot do so well for themselves”- Lincoln

We are summer owners and were there 4 years ago and last year. They do a good job at keeping the place up.
You might want to talk to them and find out how the current winter ski season reservation system works.
