  • While at YNP, don't forget to visit

Buffalo Bill Dam, six miles west of Cody.
Also, close by is Cody's famous Buffalo Bill Historical Center, which includes the The Buffalo Bill Museum, The Whitney Gallery of Western Art, The Cody Firearms Museum, The Plains Indian Museum and the newest addition, the Draper Museum of Natural History.

Then too, there's Beartooth Pass, just out northeast gate. Check for snow conditions with park ranger prior to heading up. Might want to take a warm jacket and maybe some gloves.

Take Mesa Falls loop also, when you run out of things to look at. Study at http://www.idahobyways.gov/byways/mesa-falls.aspx
    Also,... http://www.rexcc.com/sitestosee/mesafall.html

    Don't pass this up either

You'll see it if you go between GTNP and YNP. If you don't hit the loop around the south of YNP, you'll miss it... Like if you go over to the canyon and down to the bridge, but then double back to take in Mammoth.

I found it amazing that so much water was located here.

Here is an informative read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowstone_Lake
