  • Trip West - one more time - need your help

Traveled west from Spearfish to Cody to Grand Tetons. From Yellowstone, drove up to Glacier NP.

Did a bit of northwestern Idaho and down to follow the Columbia to Portland.

Seen much Pacific coastline down to Monterey.
Headed inland to take in Yosemite and Death Valley.

Dropped through Vegas to the Dam and Lk Havasu.

Did Tucson, Pheonex, G Canyon to Lake Powell, through Zion NP and up to snowy Cedar Breaks.

From Bryce Canyon took Hwys 12 and 24 through Escalente and Canyonland to I-70 where we headed eastward for home.

I know there’s a lot I passed up and hope to fill in much this time.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was thinking of heading for Florida in Feb/Mar and then stop along the Gulf by end of March. Don't know if it will be warm enough.

Then visit a week or two in southern Missouri and Kansas, heading toward Mesa Verte NP.

Is it spring yet in April, at Canyon de Chelly? And is Arches and Dinosaur really worth the trip after all the rock I've seen?

Would like to stay over again at Sedona, then redue the I-15 corridor north from Vegas. What all to consider taking in around SLC? Or even into eastern Oregon and southern Idaho?

Wish to do Glacier again for 3 or 4 days. Then head Eastward.

Caroll says she might feel up to traveling, but it has to be TSs or lodges. No camping this time. A tough call, but I'll try.

I’ve been seaching the web, trying to find different things to take in.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated????

Canyon de Chelly in April is very doable. Cool enough, warm enough.

Only thing to consider when doing the canyon is if there is any heavy storm activity around that time, heavy rains....but that is low on probability scale.

Mesa Verde is well worth a stop, and we loved Arches (even though now one of the most famed is broken...the countryside is just beautiful).
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

We had usually gone down to FL in mid/late March to see DD and Grandkids. They live in Tampa, and the weather is usually a real big tease for us. Temps usually low to mid seventies ~ temps we'll have to wait another two months to see up here.

Your trips are always so wonderful Robert ~ or is it that you just make them sound that way!! Actually, this country is so beautiful, with a subject like that, how can you go wrong?!? Whatever you decide ~ it's all good!! Keep us informed!

Here's to Carol making the trip!!

            Robert,
Thanks for the link ~ unfortunately there's no vacations to be seen anytime soon for us. DH has been out of work since last August. Meantime, we'll just have to vacation through others cameras and travel tales. So be sure to post!

Salt Lake City: try to be there on a Sunday morning. Go to the rehursal of the Tabernacle choir on Sunday morning. They rehurse an hour before the radio program starts. You can stay for the radio program if you wish or leave between the rehursal and the start of the program. It's free; you don't have to get tickets or arrange for it ahead of time.

All of the Mormon history around the square and tour of the Beehive house is interesting and doesn't take a lot of time.

                Thank you, Sue.

I'm sure everyone has their own experiences to measure by. I've experienced so much that I probably see good in much that others may overlook.

I try to make it all sound the way it was... The way it was for me, that is.
I would hope that anyone pursuaded by my reports might see more than I. I will feel accomplished to know others went and looked because of what I wrote.

Everyone should express their findings. Please help others to GO and EXPERIENCE.
