BILOXI — Condo sales and rentals are so slow that owners at The Villas at Ocean Club in Biloxi are considering timesharing as a way to keep their units and recoup their investment. The Biloxi Planning Commission voted Thursday in favor of a proposal to change the use of the beach front tower from condominiums to timeshare units. Attorney Michael Cavanaugh said there won’t be any structural changes to the building. Those property owners who want to stay in the building don’t have to join the plan to partner with Interval International to market and manage the units.........

This article updates the earlier info.. But- it has some weird data that doesn't really make sense to me. This article doesn't even mention RCI, but instead refers to a Branson timeshare company.. The numbers are also a little strange..

"He said the company surveyed its 24,000 owners and asked what destination they would like added to their timeshare exchange list. South Mississippi and the casinos, beaches and golf were their top choice, he said. About 20,000 people would vacation in Biloxi the first year, Burkholder said."

I may be misreading this, but that seems like a HUGE percentage of owners who reportedly are expected to swarm Biloxi instead of going to their Branson resort? The article also mentions a $90,000 "study" to be done in 60 days..

I'm hoping the reporter just butchered the story, 'cuz the data just doesn't seem feasible. Could be a waste of $90k...
